Endless detection possibilities
LIDAR measures the distance to a target by illuminating the target with pulsed laser light and measuring the reflected pulses with a sensor. The differences in laser return times and wavelengths can then be used to create digital 3-D representations of the target area more thoroughly and more accurately than ever before.
Human activity and structures hidden from the human eye are easily detected by LIDAR technology. Capable of penetrating the canopy of the densest jungles and forests, it uses post-processing software that removes the vegetation imagery, leaving just the image of the ground below.
